Golf Fore Excellence Tournament

4E Run/Walk & Health Festival (5K &10K)

Thanks to the 1,000 runners/walkers and the 40 schools who registered for our event.  Special thanks to our title sponsor SRG Athletics as well as HEB, Humana, and all of our sponsors listed to the left of the page.  

It was great to have the Spurs Coyote getting the crowd started and City Manager Sheryl Sculley as our Race Starter.  The 200 M Youth Obstacle Course by Mile Strong Kids, Spurs Pop-A-Shot and the activities by Bexar County Health Collaborative provided lots of fun activities for the kids at the free Health Festival.

2nd Annual INSPIRE AWARDS 10/30/2012

This event honored and celebrated some of the present, past and future shining stars in SAISD.  Honorees this year included alumnus Dr. Robert Brown, President of Boston University and U.S. Congressman Charles A. Gonzalez.  New food and drink stations at this year's event included SAISD alumus Lisa Wong's Acenar, The Guenther House and Tycoon Flats, all located in the heart of San Antonio and SAISD - we thank them for their support!. Nominations for the 2013 INSPIRE AWARDS can be submitted anytime before February 22, 2013.  If you know an outstanding and inspirational SAISD alumnus, friend of SAISD or SAISD teacher download the form on the left panel.  All nominations rollover annually.  More photos from the event can be found on the Photo Gallery link to the bottom left.

Mike Mitchell Memorial Golf Classic November 2012

Thanks to all those who came out to support this event!  Together, over $24,000 in scholarships were raised which will be awarded in May 2013 to students from Sam Houston High School.  Mike Mitchell was a strong supporter of Sam Houston as well as its feeder middle school and elementary campuses in SAISD. Many thanks to his friends, fellow basketball players, family, and the community who came out to honor him and support students in SAISD through the Mike Mitchell Scholarship Fund of the SAISD Foundation.   Special thanks to Eagle Drilling for their support.
