A note from our Board Chair -

In this season of reflection, I wanted to express to you how thankful I am for your support in enhancing the educational experience of our kids in SAISD. It warms my heart to know how you care about our kids community wide and that you believe in the good work being done by our teachers and district leadership. It is fulfilling to see the growth in our base of support. Together we can foster a better tomorrow for our kids and our community.

Mini-Grants for School Year 2019-2020

We are continually amazed at what our educators can do with an investment of $500 in their program or classroom. The ideas presented in the Mini-Grant applications are often some of our most creative and impactful, including podcast studios film clubs, ballet folklorico groups, and CyberPatriots teams. Since fall 2013, we have awarded more than 760 Mini-Grants to educators in SAISD. We will begin awarding this year's grants on #GivingTuesday and we welcome you to join us on these surprise deliveries taking place across 69 district campuses. This is an excellent way for you to see firsthand the impact of our grant program, the excitement of teachers who realize their ideas will come alive and how thrilled students are for new additions to their classrooms! Send an email to tpcagarza@saisd.net to share your intent to join us!

Care packages bring a bit of early holiday cheer...

Valero employees and now others, most recently Freeman Coliseum staff members, have begun helping the care package effort to support students pursuing higher education. This Fall, in partnership with the SAISD Postsecondary Initiatives Department and the SAISD Foundation, volunteers have purchased items, assembled them, and mailed about 70 packages for our most recent alumni who attend college out of state. This February, additional organizations and volunteers will send packages to our students across Texas. Read full story here...
